In GP3, there are no reflections, it's just a texture algorithm, you can see the environment (houses, objects) reflecting, but not cars. As you can see here:

It's environment mapping, and games today use exactly the same thing for reflections, just a more advanded version of it. No game engine provides real reflections, unless it's a raytracing engine.

I think the speed limits should be removed completely. It's all virtual, no one can get hurt, where's the need for security measures. Formula 1 got along without speedlimits for a long time.

Quote :LFS need racers not servers there are enough

I guess that's right, but you won't change that by gathering LFS users to play more Trackmania. If you want more players on the LFS servers, play LFS.

I don't think that's necessary, there are no full servers in LFS

I think you should stick to your own style, i mean everyone has a little difference in his line and driving style, its not always the best to copy others.

About the hotlap replays, many WR setups are heavily based on oversteering, because it allows higher cornering speeds. But this makes the car nervous and requires a lot of rapid correction movements. So many hotlaps are done with very low steering-wheel-lock and FF settings, this could be the reason for the quick movements you saw there.

Quote from HavocS :So that means LFS already counts in the FFB simulation if the car has powersteering or not?

Good question, I still have no idea what kind of steering LFS tries to simulate. In a car with power steering the wheel's steering resistance should be linear (at least it was in all cars I sat in), but in LFS the resistance in all cars is progressive. So it can't be power steering.

So obviously LFS simulates cars without power steering, this would be a little strange though, since the cars in LFS are not so old and should have power steering. And there's this issue with the wheel being lightweight while the car is standing, shouldn't be like that without power steering.

That's a good suggestion, recently I installed windows7 over winXP, including a hdd-wipeout. I made a backup of all my personal files, which were on a separate partition, and also saved the whole user data folder, because that's the place where games and apps put there saves/config these days. But I forgot that LFS saves it all the old fashioned way, in the LFS folder itself. Now all my layouts, server settings and setups are gone.

Ubuntu makes an exellent choice for those who are new to / unexperienced with Linux. You can also check DistroWatch to find the Linux that suits you most. I'm using Fedora which always tries to use the newest available technologies. This makes Fedora exciting (for me), but the new stuff they include can sometimes cause troubles and headache.
